The one thing about being a new mom is that I have lost sense of the days of the week and of which holidays are right around the corner. Canada Day is not anything big in our household, but I was feeling festive this year for some reason. In all honesty, I would love to make a little something out […]
A Neutral Gender Reveal Party
I see a lot of blue vs pink, moustaches vs lipstick, and bow ties vs tutus. I didn’t want our gender reveal to have any of those things because in this day and age, let’s just be real: lots of girls’ favourite colour is blue, real men wear pink, women have upper lip hair, men wear makeup, women look hot in bow ties and no one really bats an eye if a man rocks a tutu.
THE LIST – A BRAIN DUMP OF ALL BRAIN DUMPS
While a majority of the population seems to be phasing out the use of pen and paper, I am stubbornly hanging on. I absolutely love the tactile-ness (is that even a word??) of paper. This is also the reason that I still own paper magazines even though I can read digital copies on my iPad. Ah, the joy of physically […]
IT’S BEEN A MINUTE
Wowza I’m baaa-ck! After briefly starting up this blog journey, I took a helluva long hiatus…longer than I think is really acceptable. I started this blog with the purpose of keeping myself accountable as I work toward rebuilding my confidence by taking steps to build a chic life I can be proud of. I felt good with how I started […]
7 TIPS FOR MAKING PERFECT MACARONS
This year’s Mother’s Day activity involved macarons, tea and a picnic in the park. Ever on the quest and looking for tips for making the perfect macarons, the women in my family took the macaron baking class at Ollia Macarons & Tea. As with anyone who gives making macarons a try quickly learns…it is far from easy! I have made […]
MOTHER’S DAY AT THE PARK
Spring weather in the YYC has been incredibly testy! In the past two weeks, we have experienced heavy snowfall, high winds, rain AND dry hot sunny weather! Just a little bit crazy. The week immediately before Mother’s Day we had far from ideal weather. But as luck would have it, the hallmark holiday gods smiled upon us and gave us […]
CLOSET CONFIDENCE // BUILDING A WEARABLE VERSION
Today’s closet confidence challenge was to build a wearable version of a look I find on Pinterest. My sister had the family over for brunch today and I thought it the perfect opportunity to wear the outfit I have been planning for this challenge. The Inspiration Through hours of browsing, I came across Elie Saab’s Fall/Winter 2016 Haute Couture collection […]
CLOSET CONFIDENCE // WHAT NOT TO WEAR
Today’s Closet Confidence Challenge is to wear something that supposedly doesn’t flatter my body type. I actually had no idea what my body type was and probably spent the equivalent of 24 hours over the past week researching body types. It is all so confusing and I STILL don’t fit perfectly into a shape. I have landed on the fact that […]
CLOSET CONFIDENCE // UPGRADE PLEASE + BASICS STYLED 2 WAYS
Today’s challenges have me brainstorming 3 ways to upgrade my everyday look and styling basics 2 ways. I think I’ve mentioned before that I consider myself basic and boring in terms of fashion. By no means am I fashionable, nor do I aspire to be. I just want to find my own self, confidence and comfort through this Closet Confidence […]
CLOSET CONFIDENCE // LIKE A BOSS
Once upon a time, I was commuting home from the office on public transit. There are never a lack of interesting characters to interact with when I take public transit. For those who know me personally, I generally keep to myself and am not super warm, open and friendly when you meet me for the first time. Even less so […]
